The Delhi Assembly will deliberate on several key issues this Friday, as per the List of Business (LoB). Among the major topics on the agenda are the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) audit report on the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), a proposed name change for the Mustafabad Assembly Constituency, and a resolution on free gas cylinder distribution.
According to the LoB, the Assembly will review the CAG Audit Report on the Functioning of the Delhi Transport Corporation, assessing its efficiency and financial management.
Another significant topic for discussion is a resolution moved by BJP MLA and Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht proposing to rename the Mustafabad Assembly Constituency as Shiv Vihar Assembly Constituency, citing the sentiments of local voters.
Additionally, AAP MLA Sanjeev Jha will present a resolution advocating the implementation of free gas cylinder distribution on special occasions by the Delhi government, aiming to provide relief to citizens.
Earlier in the day, under the leadership of BJP MLA Abhay Verma, the Delhi Legislative Assembly passed a motion to dispose of long-pending cases referred to various committees, including Privileges, Petitions, and Questions & References, from the Sixth and Seventh Legislative Assemblies.
Presenting the motion with the Speaker’s permission, Verma highlighted that some cases had been unresolved for years and, in certain instances, escalated to the Delhi High Court, complicating their resolution.
The motion concluded with a resolution stating that no further action would be taken on these pending cases, effectively considering them disposed of.
On March 27, the Assembly formally adopted this motion, addressing eight pending court cases, including those filed by Delhi government officials.
With multiple crucial issues on the agenda, Friday’s session of the Delhi Assembly is expected to witness intense discussions and significant resolutions.
